INJURED? GET IT ASSESSED. GET A PLAN. GET MOVING AGAIN.

Not every injury needs an Emergency Department. But sometimes you need more than “rest it and see how it goes.”

At SunCoast Women’s Health Hub in Coolum Beach, Dr Roxanne Shahtahmasebi provides medical assessment and management of acute and persistent musculoskeletal injuries. Whether you’ve hurt yourself running, training, playing sport, at the gym or simply during everyday life, the aim is to understand what you’ve injured, what needs to happen next, and how to help you return safely to movement.

GETTING BACK TO EXERCISE SAFELY.

WHAT WE CAN ASSESS

Our Minor Injury Clinic can assess a broad range of musculoskeletal injuries and persistent problems, including:

Sprains and strains

Tendon injuries and tendinopathy

Joint pain and injuries

Shoulder, knee, hip and ankle problems

Running and training-related injuries

Overuse injuries

Persistent pain or recurring injuries

Minor acute sporting injuries

Injuries affecting your ability to exercise or work

Return-to-sport and return-to-exercise concerns

If you have a niggle that has been hanging around for weeks, an injury that keeps recurring, or you simply aren’t sure whether you should keep training through it, a medical assessment can help clarify what is going on.

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER YOUR ASSESSMENT

Depending on your injury, your management plan may include:

  • Activity modification
  • Advice on what you can continue doing, what may need to be temporarily reduced, and how to avoid unnecessarily stopping all activity.
  • Imaging or investigations where clinically indicated.
  • Rehabilitation planning.
  • A structured approach to rebuilding strength, mobility and function.
  • Return to exercise or sport
  • Guidance around when and how to gradually increase activity.
  • Referral where appropriate

This may include physiotherapy, exercise physiology, podiatry, orthopaedics or other allied health services depending on your injury.

A medical assessment — not just an injury check. Your consultation is designed to look beyond where it hurts.
