INFUSIONS
Evidence-based Infusion Care
At SunCoast Women’s Health Hub, our doctors provide carefully assessed consultations, and medically supervised Iron infusions and Osteoporosis infusions in a calm, private clinic environment in Coolum Beach.
Our approach is centred around understanding why you may need treatment — not simply administering an infusion without broader assessment.
What happens during an iron infusion?
Your doctor will review your medical history, blood tests, medications, and symptoms to determine whether an infusion is appropriate.
The infusion itself is administered by trained clinical staff and generally takes approximately 30–60 minutes, followed by a short observation period.
What is Aclasta?
Aclasta® is an intravenous medication used to help strengthen bone and reduce fracture risk in people with osteoporosis or significant bone loss.It belongs to a class of medications called bisphosphonates.
Who may benefit from Aclasta?
Aclasta may be considered for patients with:
Osteoporosis
Osteopenia with elevated fracture risk
Fragility fractures
Postmenopausal bone loss
Steroid-induced bone loss
Bone health is especially important during and after menopause, when declining oestrogen levels can accelerate loss of bone density. Many people do not realise they have osteoporosis until a fracture occurs.
Bone health involves more than medication.
